~  Welcome  ~

The Town of Bedford, Massachusetts opened its Emergency Communications Center (ECC) at the Bedford Police Department on April 2, 1997. All of the town's emergency communications are answered and dispatched through the ECC.  The ECC handles tens of thousands of police, fire, and EMS calls per year, as well as assisting citizens in the lobby of the police station.

The center currently employs eight full-time Emergency Communications Officers (ECOs) and one part-time ECO on a rotating "4-and-2" schedule to staff the center twenty-four hours per day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.  All employees are proud members of the International Association of Fire Fighters, Local 2310-B.
